John Divola was born in 1949, he is a contemporary visual artist. He now lives and works in Los Angeles. Divola describes himself exploring the landscape by looking for the edge between the specific and the abstract.

Through these photographs I attempted to show some un noticed details around school, such as cracked floors and chipped walls, so I used the macro effect on the majority of pictures to take them close up

Formal Elements
Formal elements is a term used by artists or art critics within the fine arts, to refer to the elements within a composition of a photograph(what it consists of)
Perspective: Representing objects so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other. It's also the line of sight, or the way you/the camera looks at the subject.
Pattern: a repeated decorative design
Layers: several things layered (put) on top of eachother
Contrast: the difference between light and dark in a photograph
Negative Space: the space around the main subject of a picture
Texture: the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or a substance
Scale: similar to perspective
Focus: determined by the lens and aperture. How blurry or sharp a subject or photograph is

Joiners
Hockney is an English painter, photographer and stage designer, born in 1937. He's an important contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 60s and is often considered by some one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century. He started a series of photo collages called "joiners" in the early 1980's, first using polaroid images. Some examples are:

I took images from all around the pool as well as some smaller details to add depth to the picture and I edited it together in photoshop.
